Founder Notes

Reflections from inside the project.

Short, infrequent notes on what ECO is, what it resists, and what continues to emerge.
NOTE 03

On building something that knows when to step back.

Most systems are designed to invite return.

ECO is designed to step back.

The hope is simple:

People return when reflection feels needed, and leave when steadiness, clarity, and trust in their own thinking quietly return.

NOTE 02

Warmth is not the same as care.

A system can sound attentive without protecting agency.

The difference is not tone.

It is whether a person leaves more connected to themselves, more able to return to the people, choices, and life around them, or more attached to the system.

NOTE 01

Why this began.

Over time, a quiet pattern became difficult to ignore:

Systems were becoming increasingly skilled at holding attention, shaping emotion, and inviting return.

The question became:

What would it look like to build something that helps a person hear themselves more clearly; feel more present to themselves; become steadier in their own thinking; and then gently let go?
